CARIA. Knidos. Circa 465-449 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 6.08 g, 9 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. K-N-I Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing pearl necklace and with her hair falling down the back of her neck and tied at the end; all within incuse square. BMC 14 (same dies). BMFA 1985-1986 (same dies). Cahn 83 (V39/R58). Pozzi 2585-2586 (same dies). Beautifully toned and with a wonderful head of Aphrodite. Light die wear on the obverse and with the usual early die break on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
